So it’s the freaking end of July already? I honestly can’t believe that over half the year is gone…it means that I finally hit my 30s and my daughter is now in double digits. Yep, she’s 10! While trying to tackle reviews and my ever growing, mile long list of TBRs, I still managed to make a deliciously (and ever problematic) Minecraft cake and throw a killer birthday party. But what have I read, you may ask? I’ll show you.
The book that kicked off July :
Sadie: This book is the thriller of all thrillers and what makes it even more interesting is the podcast that drops tomorrow called “The Girls”. I’ve never been much of a podcast listener but you best believe I’m impatiently awaiting this one. Read my review of Sadie here
Girl Wash Your Face: Okay so I didn’t actually read this book. But I did listen to it on audio and I am so freaking glad I did. There’s a theme here – I’m not much of a listener of books…see what I said about Podcasts above. However, this book is so worth listening to. Rachel Hollis, herself, narrates it and she’s just as funny as she is brilliant.
Baby Teeth: This was a new release that seemed to have EVERYBODY talking. Equal parts mysterious and horrifying, Baby Teeth will make you thankful for the family you have. I promise it’s brilliant and creepy as all hell. Read my full review here
Caged: Ellison Cooper has made a life fan out of me. I often wish that mysteries and thrillers would give me MORE of the gruesomeness that I crave from those types of stories. Caged does not leave anything to the imagination and is so brutally dark and twisted. Read my full review here
All Your Perfects: It’s no secret that I am a huge CoHort (Colleen Hoover fan). I finally got to attend my first book signing and meet my very first author. This entire day was such a blast and you can read more about my shenanigans here
And so that I don’t make this post a mile long here is a list of other books I managed to read this month:
I also read, but did not review or haven’t published a review yet
A Simple Favor by Darcey Bell
No Return Address by Gail Anderson-Dargatz
Final Girls by Riley Sager
The Exes Revenge by Jo Jakeman
The Echo Room by Parker Peevyhouse
Leah on the Offbeat by Beky Alberalli
And today I am finishing up this unique book – with a review coming soon.
That brings my total to 18 books for the month of July. Have you read any of these or are you looking forward to any of them?
