Sea Witch is a brilliant fairytale you’ve never read before.

I will 100% admit to requesting to read this book solely based on the cover. It is absolutely no secret how much I love all things Octopus. Would you just look at that cover?

So what is Sea Witch about? Well everyone knows the story of The Little Mermaid…This is the story that precedes it. The story of three friends; one a prince, one a witch and one who is dead. In a land where the Sea is a thing to be loved and feared and where witches are drowned for being witches, Evie must find her own happily ever after.

I absolutely adored this book. Sarah Henning is a beautiful story teller with a unique vision for a tale that begged to be told. Even though this is a fantasy book, it had me holding my breath in the very way I crave from reading thrillers. I could not put this down, until I had to. And even then, my mind was reeling with possible outcomes. When I finally finished it, I felt overcome with emotions….sometimes the happily ever after that we seek isn’t necessarily the one we get.

Sea Witch is a fun, young adult, fantasy book but if you let it, there’s a lesson to be learned within its pages. With stunning world building, love-able characters and gorgeous imagery, Sea Witch is sure to speak to the fairy tale lover in everyone.

Thank you to Katherine Tegen Books for allowing me to read and review this book
